Today marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Fall of Saigon and the end of the war in Vietnam.
It is a cliché to say that time gets faster as one gets older, but it really does. I was in Saigon ten years ago for the fortieth anniversary. My first novel, A Death in Phnom Penh, takes place at that time. It feels like yesterday.
